County to beef up St. Patrick’s Day traffic enforcement

To combat drunken driving and increase safety belt use, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department will intensify its traffic safety enforcement from March 5 to 21, which includes the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The increased enforcement is part of a $6,000 grant that the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety.  This will allow KSD to put approximately 100 hours of extra enforcement into place during this time period.

“During this season and during the rest of the year, we are trying to prevent motorists from getting hurt on our roadways. Our goal is to increase compliance with traffic laws, not to write more tickets,” says Sheriff David Beth.
