Two Genoa City girls reported missing Tuesday were found early Wednesday in Kansas.

The grandparents of Katie Brick, 8, and Jenna Brick, 6, reported the girls’ mother Tiffany Brick, 28, had left their Sumner Court residence with the girls at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Under an agreement with a Walworth County agency, Brick was prohibited from leaving the residence with the children without the supervision of another adult in the household.

Attempts to locate Brick through family and friends, phone calls and text messages failed Tuesday as did attempts to find Brick’s boyfriend, Scott Hogel, 51, of McHenry, Ill.

Genoa City Police sought help from the public Tuesday in locating Brick and her daughters.

“The Genoa City Police Department is trying to locate Tiffany to check her welfare and the welfare of her children,” the department wrote in a news release Tuesday.

Just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, police in Mission, Kansas, found an incoherent man wandering around with no shoes on. The man was identified as Hogel, who eventually led police to a hotel in Overland Park, Kansas, where Tiffany Brick and the girls were, according to police.

The girls were taken into protective custody and, as of about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, were waiting with officials in Kansas to be brought back to Wisconsin, according to Genoa City police.
