Westosha Central High School’s Braden Gere is one of about 35 students chosen to hit the highway as a member of Kids from Wisconsin, a troupe entering its 49th year, according to a news release.

“(He) was recently chosen from among many talented youth who auditioned for the 2017 Kids from Wisconsin show troupe,” the release states.

Gere, a member of Westosha Central’s jazz band, has also performed in musicals and theatrical productions at the school.

Most recently, Gere played the role of Finch in the November musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

“He enjoys singing, dancing, acting and playing piano in jazz band,” the release states.

Gere and other Kids from Wisconsin members expect to perform before 120,000 people in Wisconsin and in the Midwest region from June 22 until Aug. 19.

Kids from Wisconsin, which is for performers 15-20 years old, plans to produce each show in collaboration with some of the best writers, arrangers and choreographers across the country, the release states.

“It is a privilege and honor to any community and a tribute to its arts program,” the release adds.
