WIAA GOLF REGIONAL: Falcons, Panthers qualify for sectionals

Westosha Central wins Racine Case regional

With a margin of victory at 12 strokes, the Westosha Central High School boys golf team won the WIAA Division 1 regional hosted by Racine Case at par 72 Ives Grove Golf Links May 23.

The Falcons, who finished first at 316, along with second-place Wilmot were two of four schools to qualify for sectionals set for May 30.

Collectively, Westosha Central and Wilmot had six golfers among the top 10, including senior Zach Kramer and freshman Paul Lynch of the Falcons.

Kramer and Lynch each scored a 77 to finish tied for third.

Panthers’ junior Zach Strasser, who scored a 44 on the front nine, bounced back with a 36 in the back to nine to come into a three-way tie for fifth place at 80.

Freshman Gavin Goldstein, of Westosha Central, was one of two to match Strasser’s 80.

Wilmot senior Cody Faber, who finished eighth at 81, was one stroke ahead of ninth place Bailey Menarek, a Westosha Central senior.
