Salem Lakes music in the park kicks off

The 2017 Music in the Parks schedule was set, and kicked off May 29, when Roxx took the stage in Schmalfeldt Park.

The schedule was announced at the May 15 Village of Salem Lakes Committee of the Whole meeting by Parks Commission chairperson Laura Francart.

The events in May and June will be held at Schmalfeldt Park, located at 498 E Wisconsin Ave.

Summer Beats returns
Summer Beats, held at Schmalfeldt Park, is a two-day event scheduled Aug. 11-12.

Burro Creek is slated to take the stage Aug. 12 from 8 p.m.-Midnight.

Along with a carnival, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department plans to deliver a K9 demonstration, with a fireworks display at dusk.

More details will emerge, as the date for the event grows closer.

Additionally, the Parks Commission discussed a potential community rummage sale and community at a May 9 meeting.

Events scheduled after July could get relocated to Camp Lake Park
