Team advances on tiebreaker
Westosha Central High School is heading to the WIAA Division 1 state golf tournament at University Ridge in Madison.
The Falcons, coming off a regional title, finished tied for second with host Franklin after the squads completed their rounds at Oakwood Park Golf Course.
Westosha Central, however, defeated the Sabers in the first playoff hole 15-17 to receive their tickets to state.
Freshman Paul Lynch, at No. 2, led the Falcons with a score of 76.
Muskego won the meet at 316 while the Falcons scored a 333.
For Wilmot, which placed second at regionals, the team did not advance anyone to the state after finishing fifth at 348.
Josh Peterson led Wilmot at 86 as the team’s No. 4 golfer.
The Falcons make their state appearance June 5-6.
