Antique appraisal event set for Johnsburg Public Library

On Saturday, April 21, from 1 to 4 pm (by appointment), antiques expert Mark Moran will provide informal appraisals on your antiques and collectibles.

Categories of accepted objects include: fine art, furniture (small pieces), ceramics, glassware, vintage photographs, advertising, folk art, assorted toys, metalware, clocks and costume jewelry.

Excluded items: All weapons (folding knives with advertising are accepted); fine jewelry, including precious gems and watches; musical instruments, including violins and wind/reed instruments (though some acoustic and early electric guitars are accepted).

Questions about pieces not covered in these lists may be submitted to Mark in advance at (715) 281-5060 or at [email protected].

Opinions of value are informal and may not be used for insurance or charitable donations, which require a certified appraisal.

Arrange for your personal time slot by calling the library at (815) 344-0077 to register (one item per person please). Online registration is not available for this program.

About the presenter: Mark Moran has been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine, and a guest expert on Antiques Roadshow. He is the co-author of over 25 books on antiques and collectibles.
