Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha selected as partner in 2012 Packers Tailgate Tour

On May 17, on the third stop of the 2012 Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour, 650 Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha supporters will be joined by current Packer players Jordy Nelson and Mason Crosby along with Packer legends Larry McCarren, Marco Rivera, William Henderson and Packers President Mark Murphy.  An additional active player may be announced at a later date.

The Packers expect to be in Kenosha most of the afternoon and well into the evening on May 17.

At 5 p.m., there will be a VIP reception in the Natalie & Dennis Troha Youth Center at the club for major sponsors of the Kenosha leg of the Tailgate Tour.

Doors open at the club for the regular $30 tailgate tickets at 4:30 p.m. Early arrivers will be channeled into the Madrigrano Family Sports Center where they will be treated to tailgate food and non-alcoholic beverages at three food stations on the first floor of the new Boys and Girls Club. There will be music and other entertainment during that time.

The Packers will arrive in the Johnson Bank Fieldhouse at 6 p.m. where Packers president Mark Murphy will make remarks and there will be a brief question and answer period. At 6:30 p.m., all ticket holders will be able to get an autograph from each of the celebrities in attendance. Attendees may bring one item of their own for signatures or they may use the commemorative program book, which will be given to every person in attendance.

Each attendee will also be given a small Packers souvenir as part of their $30 ticket price. Event t-shirts will be available for purchase.

For the price of a $30 ticket, the holder will have the right to Tailgate Tour beverages, bratwurst, hamburger or hot dog, music, participation in the question and answer session, a Packer souvenir and Packer autographs.  There will also be opportunities for tailgate attendees to have their picture taken in front of the Packer tailgate bus while it is parked in front of the club.

Only 650 $30-tickets will be available. Wally Graffen, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha, expects that they will sell out. “We encourage Packer fans and Boys and Girls Club supporters alike to purchase their tickets early at the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.” Tickets are available at the club, 1330-52nd Street, Kenosha, or by telephone credit card purchase at (262) 653-7305.

The Boys and Girls Club is also planning a brief program for club kids with the Packer players. “We have sponsors who have purchased tickets for about 50 club kids who will qualify to escort the Packers into the hall,” Graffen stated. “They will have a brief opportunity to meet with the players before the formal presentations on the club’s indoor athletic field.”

Graffen encouraged ticket buyers to tour the club after they purchase tickets. “We won’t have an opportunity to provide tours the night of the tailgate,” he stated. “But we love showing off our new center. Please ask at the desk if you would like a tour.”
