Boater safety classes to start April 14

The Village of Silver Lake Water Patrol and Department of Natural Resources is holding a boater safety class from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15, at the Silver Lake Village Hall, 113 S. First Street.

Wisconsin boating safety certification or out of state equivalent certification is required for operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1989 and at least 16 years of age.

Operators 12 to 15 years of age must either have a certificate or have an adult on board while operating.  Anyone 10 years of age or older is eligible to take the class and receive a safety education completion certificate.  The certificate does not become valid until the child reaches 12 years of age.

Cost is $10 per student and lunch will be provided April 15.  Sign up at the silver lake village hall or call (262) 889-4100
