‘Silver Lake…Every Season an Adventure’

Winning motto selected in village’s Beautification Committee contest

Dorothy Wold submitted the winning motto entry in the Silver Lake Village Beautification Committee contest. Her entry, “Silver Lake…Every Season an Adventure” was one of 56 entries.

Joanne Magio, a committee member, said the entries were “…all creative, positive ideas about Silver Lake. The youngest entrant was seven years old and she included a picture that she drew with her entry.”

“We always think of Silver Lake as summertime fun,” she continued, “but as the new slogan indicates, we are a village that has year round activities enjoyed by both residents and visitors.”

Wold will enjoy “dining out in Silver Lake” at Scully’s Silver Lake Grill, Uncle George’s Bar and grill, Binanti’s Taste of Italy, KB’s American Legion and top it all off with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.

Selection of the entry was based on identity, pride, community, economics and “short and sweet”. Selection committee members were Deb Scully, Mary Albrecht, Michele Schiel, Jo Ladsky, Kathy Woods and Maggio.
