Wallen commits as Country Thunder headliner in 2022

Country music’s hottest superstar, Morgan Wallen, is coming to the Country Thunder Music Festival in Twin Lakes for 2022.

Troy Vollhoffer, CEO of Country Thunder Music Festivals, said Wallen’s appearance as a headliner came by popular demand.

“Every decade or so an artist comes along who transcends the country music genre and, in fact, changes the entire game,” Vollhoffer said.

“Morgan Wallen is that artist right now, for the immediate future, and well beyond.

“Our fans spoke loud and clear this past year…and we listened. As an organization, Country Thunder is thrilled to have Morgan at multiple festivals in 2022.”

The numbers and the fan hysteria speak for itself.

With over seven billion on-demand streams, numerous multi-market, multi-platinum certifications and four consecutive chart-toppers, Wallen’s widely-praised sophomore effort, Dangerous: The Double Album, reigned No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart for a whopping 10 consecutive weeks upon its release.

The blockbuster remained in the top 10 for 33 weeks, plus earned the biggest streaming week for a Country album in music history.

It includes another record-breaking achievement with one of Time magazine’s Top 10 Songs of 2020, “7 Summers,” and “Wasted On You” – both debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and inside the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, not to mention the 4 time platinum Diplo collaboration, “Heartless,” and another platinum chart-topper, “More Than My Hometown.”

Wallen, who also committed to performances in Arizona and Florida, plans to appear in Twin Lakes during the July 21-24 music festival.

Country Thunder Music Festivals has a 17-year history which boasts four other major, multi-day events in North America. The organization hosts festivals in Iowa, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Tennessee.
