Silver Lake police reports

 

June 11

Rescue call

• At 9:57 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of N. Cogswell Drive to assist a male subject with a history of heart problems who was having chest pains. After Silver Lake Rescue finished assessing the subject, he refused any further treatment and the call was cleared.

Suspicious vehicle

• At 6:50 p.m., a complainant came to the PD to report a suspicious Lexus with Wis. plates parked in the area of the Silver Lake Maintenance garage. The vehicle was occupied by one subject and had been in the area for a while. An officer went to check the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.

 

June 2

Traffic stop/drug possession

• At 11:05 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation and upon the stop, detected the odor of alcohol and marijuana. Upon conducting an investigation, it was determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol but was under the legal limit. Two marijuana pipes were confiscated along with 1.5 g of marijuana. The driver was subsequently arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

 

June 3

Theft

• At 9:18 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Cogswell Drive to meet with a complainant who advised that his lawnmower was stolen after he took a short break from mowing and went inside for a short time. The lawnmower is valued at $200. It is a green Yardman brand with a Briggs and Stratton motor and is self-propelled.

Boating violation

• At 3:50 p.m., an officer observed two jet skis near Access Road Pier operating PWCs great than slow no wake within 100 feet of each other. After making contact with the two individuals and discovering that one of the operators had already received five other citation for the same violation, the officer issued both individuals citations for operating a PWC within 100 feet of another vessel, as well as a verbal warning to one of the operators for having improper display of registration.

Boating violation

• At 7:10 p.m., an officer pulled over a boat that was violating the slow no wake after 7 p.m. After conducting a safety check, it was discovered that the boat operator was short three PFDs and the battery box was uncovered. A DNR citation was issued and the officer gave the subject a verbal warning on the other violations.

Boating violation

• At 7:30 p.m., an officer stopped a red and white boat violating the slow no wake after 7 p.m. After a safety check, it was discovered that the battery box was not securely fastened or covered. It was also discovered that the registration was not properly displayed. A DNR citation was issued for failure to secure or cover the battery.

 

June 4

Disorderly conduct

• At 12:24 a.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of S. Riverside Drive for a report of a battery complaint. The caller’s 18-year-old son was out of control and had pushed her to the ground. Once on the scene, the son was subsequently arrested for battery and disorderly conduct, with a domestic violence enhancer.

 

June 5

Traffic/warrant

• At 1:55 p.m., an officer pulled over a driver heading westbound on Cty. Highway AH for an expired driver’s license, who also had an active warrant through the Twin Lakes Police Department for possession/consuming intoxicating beverage. The driver’s sister came to retrieve his vehicle and the driver was transported to the Twin Lakes Police Department, where he posted bond. He was also issued a citation for operating a vehicle without a license.
