Libertyfest countdown begins!

Libertyfest is almost here. Next weekend, June 29 and 30 Lance Park in Twin Lakes will be transformed into the ultimate summer entertainment center for the area.

New this year will be laser tag. “We have a company coming in to set this up for us. We have never had it and I am sure the kids and maybe the adults will love it,” said Joanne O’Reilly, Twin Lakes Chamber of Commerce Administrator.

The Chamber works all year at refining the event, which will open at 5 p.m. June 29. The outdoor movie will begin at dusk in the amphitheater, showing “Happy Feet.”

The award-winning Aquanuts will be performing their only evening show of the year. Remember admission to the Libertyfest grounds, the water ski show and movie are all free.

The county’s largest Fourth of July parade will step off at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30 and head down Legion Drive concluding at Lance Park.

Saturday is jam packed with events such as the cardboard boat races at 1 p.m., followed by Twin lakes Idol, PawFest, Aquanuts, bingo and fire works at dusk.

There will be a variety of food and beverages to enjoy throughout the day.
