Gear up for Paddock Lake’s July 4 bike parade

Did you know the first Village of Paddock Lake Fourth of July bike parade was held on July 3, 1994?

A lot has changed since then. While this year’s parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4, this year no motorized floats will be allowed. This year’s theme is, Go Green! No floats allowed, but grab your bike and advertise your group.

The parade starts at McAlonan Park located at 248th Ave and 73rd Street at 10 a.m.  Line up will begin at 9:30 a.m. The parade will head north on 248th Avenue to 61st street, east on to 62nd Street and south onto 236th Avenue, ending at the Village Hall.

Prizes will be awarded for best decorated bike and costume. Hot dogs, chip and a drink for those who participate in the parade will be served. There will also be a magician show inside the Village Hall from noon until 1 pm.

The Southern Lakes Blue Devils Semi-Pro AAA Football team is helping us out this year. They will be handing out tickets for the games and the equipment trailer will be at the Village Hall so children can try on the gear that the players wear. This is a free event. Everyone is invited to decorate their bike and join the fun.
