SLFD to host Fireman’s Festival July 6 and 7

This year’s Silver Lake Fireman’s Festival, set for July 6 and 7, will feature Bella Cain, the 2012 (WAMI) Wisconsin Area Music Industry Country Group of the Year.

Bella Cain will perform Friday, July 6, at 9 p.m. The annual Fireman’s Festival will be held at Schmalfeldt Park in Silver Lake.

The two-day event offers fun and games for the entire family. As of press time the schedule is:

 

Friday July 6:

10 a.m. Sidewalk art sponsored by Heartstrings

5 p.m. Registration for Baggo Tournament

6 p.m. Baggo tournament

9 p.m. Band Bella Cain

Registration for the baggo tournament will begin at 5 p.m. with the first bags flying at 6 p.m.

Brats, hot dogs and hamburgers and beverages will be available for purchase Friday night.

 

Saturday, July 7  

Noon Street Sale on Lake Street

Noon Children’s games sponsored by Community Baptist Church, in Schmalfeldt Park

1 p.m. Spaghetti eating contest in front of Binanti’s

2 p.m. Firemen’s waterfights

2 p.m. Band “Still Kickin”

3 p.m. Businessmen’s water fights

4 p.m. Children’s Petting Zoo from Buggy Whip Farms

8 p.m. Band “4 Grand”

Children from toddler to out-going 6th graders are invited to come to Schmalfeldt Park by the swing sets to have fun with games sponsored by Community Baptist Church.

Each child will receive a card containing an open space for each game station which will be marked off as they complete each game.

Once the child has filled out the card in order, they are free to go back to any game they wish as often as they like.  Each game will award a candy prize.  Games will run from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be a chalk sidewalk art contest sponsored by Heartstrings for all ages on Lake Street. Register with Jackie at 206-7334 and reserve your square.

Binanti’s is hosting a spaghetti eating contest for children and adults beginning at 1pm. There will be 3 age divisions; 2 to 5, 6 to 13, and 14 to adults. Contact Linda at 889-8387 after 4 p.m. to register.
