Main Stay announces first Fall Festival

Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Program will host its first annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. The event will be held at Main Stay’s farm at 6919 Keystone Road, Richmond, which overlooks Glacial Park.

The day will feature live performances by well-known local favorites, Denny Diamond and the Family Jewels, Cassandra and the Gravel Road Band and the Bart Alonzo Group. There will be horse-drawn hayrides, a stage coach demonstration, pumpkin decorating, bobbing for apples and other games, a costume contest and other fall activities.

This year’s event will also commemorate Main Stay’s 25th anniversary of providing

equine-related therapeutic activities to people from 3 to 93 who are faced with a broad spectrum of challenges. Main Stay operates with a weekly volunteer force of more than 100 people, which provides assistance to its students. Volunteers, horses and students will be honored on the day of the event with a Parade of Stars.

Advance tickets purchased before Oct. 20 are $10 per person or $15 per person after Oct. 20. The cost for kids 10 and under is $5. Ticket price includes lunch.

To reserve tickets or for more information, call the Main Stay office at (815) 653-9374 or visit www.mstrp.org.
