Walking history tours scheduled for area

Western Kenosha County Historical Society’s first-ever Walking History Tour in western Kenosha County will take place next month. One community will be featured each night. Communities and locations to be featured are Wilmot, Trevor, Salem and Liberty Cemetery.

This is a casual tour that will be easy on wheelchairs. Everyone is welcome to participate and also contribute information; questions are encouraged. Each night will begin in daylight and conclude at nightfall. Tours will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude when it gets dark. These walks are not intended to be scary.

Donations to the Western Kenosha Historic Society will be accepted.

• Monday, Oct. 1: Wilmot walking tour. Meet at 5:15 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church parking lot, 11233 306th Avenue, Wilmot. Tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude when it gets dark.

• Tuesday, Oct. 2: Trevor walking tour. Meet at the Western Kenosha County Historic Society, 259-5 114th St., Trevor;

• Wednesday, Oct. 3: Salem walking tour. Meet in the west parking lot of the Salem Fire Department, 8339 Antioch Road. Park in the Roots N Wings, Kmiec Law Offices, Salon 83 or Salem Auto Service.

• Thursday, Oct. 4: Liberty Cemetery, Route 83, Antioch Road. This walk is not intended to be scary. Watch for flaggers at entrance.
