Silver Lake Harvest Festival is Oct. 27

 

The Village of Silver Lake is welcoming autumn in a big way on Saturday, Oct. 27, with a Harvest Festival.

The event includes a scarecrow yard decorating contest, a twilight parade, pumpkin carving contest, bon fire and more.

The Scarecrow Yard Decoration Contest will be judged Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best entries. Registration is required by Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Forms can be download on the village’s website, www.villageofsilverlakewi.com. The village asks that participants are respectful to their neighbors.

 

Twilight parade

Floats are sought for the Twilight Parade, which will begin at 6 p.m. at Riverview School. Floats must be decorated with glow sticks, lights or anything that will allow your entry to be safely seen by spectators. You must register no later than Saturday, Oct. 20. Prizes will be awarded.

Forms are available to download and print out on the Village of Silver Lake web site, www.villageofsilverlakewi.com. Fill out and mail to Dave Snow, 322 E. North Street, Silver Lake, WI 53170.

Immediately following the parade, at Community Baptist Church 203 North Fourth St., there will be a bonfire, food, games, beverages, music and a pumpkin carving contest.
