Food drive is huge success

Members of Cub Scout and Boy Scout Units 343 and 380 including Rhett Suhre (from left), Mike Burke, Jimmy Froehlich, Brian Froehlich and Vincent Burke recently participated in a food drive at the Twin Lakes Sentry to benefit the Twin Lakes Food Pantry. The goal was to provide an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 20 families. Due to overwhelming community response, 30 dinners were provided. “I was amazed at the generosity,” said Mike Burke who is the Scoutmaster of Troop 343. The total number of food items is not known as of press time but many shelves were filled at the Twin Lakes Food Pantry. Caring individuals also donated more than $1,300 in cash over the two days. Some of the funds were used to purchase more than 30 turkeys in time for Thanksgiving and other items needed for distribution at the food pantry. (Photo submitted)
