The Westosha Central and Wilmot girls volleyball teams combined to place six people on this year’s All-Southern Lakes Conference teams.
Central had five selections, while Wilmot received one.
Named to the first team from Central were junior Danielle Rampart and senior Lauren Hickson. Second-team picks were Central juniors Maria Rasch and Hailie Hart, while Wilmot senior Sarah Vozel and Central senior Linda Flavive were named honorable mention.
Burlington, which won its second straight WIAA Division 1 state title, dominated the first-team selections with three. The Demons also claimed another SLC championship, while Central was second.
Wilmot, which won just one match a year ago, recorded 13 victories under the direction of first-year head coach Kevin Raap.
Leading the way was senior Ciara Capezio, who is headed to the University of Minnesota on scholarship. Capezio was named the SLC Player of the Year.
She was joined by fellow scholarship athletes Morganne Longoria and Kaysie Shebeneck on the first team, along with Union Grove’s Kylie Wilks.
Named to the second team along with Rasch and Hart were Burlington freshman Quinn Spieker, Waterford junior Rebekah Raebel, Union Grove sophomore Savannah Kohlhagen and Elkhorn junior Ali Flasch.
Also named honorable mention were Badger sophomore McKinley Veith, Burlington freshman Phoebe Hozeska, Delavan-Darien sophomore Katie Jones, Elkhorn sophomore Maggie McGraw, Union Grove senior Ashley Olsen and Waterford senior Elyssa Hochevar.
