‘A December to Remember’ holiday dance and food drive

StateLineDance.com is sponsoring “A December To Remember” Holiday Dance and Food Drive. Come for a night of dancing and giving on Friday, Nov. 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. Bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Twin Lakes Food Pantry and receive $2 off admission. You may also purchase for donation fresh Christmas trees on display.

Enjoy dancing on the 90-year-old “sprung floor” of Twin Lakes Ballroom (now known as Rumpoles Wonder Bar). It is the largest and oldest ballroom in Wis. and Ill., and is where many of the old time Big Bands played, including Glen Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Gene Krupa and Lawrence Welk, who was the resident musician for the Summer of 1931. Admission of $15 for singles and $25 for couples includes a 45-minute Fox Trot lesson by professional instructor Jack Ryan, music by DJ Mike of the PfatKats, a Showcase Dance, appetizers and a variety of strict tempo and very danceable music. Attire is dressy/casual and dancers of all levels are invited, including beginners. Rumpoles is located at 352 E Main St., Twin Lakes. The GPS address is 1 N Lake Ave., Twin Lakes, Wis., which is just three-and-a-half miles north of the Ill. border. For information, call Ed Vardon at (262) 448-1510 or e-mail [email protected].
