Four Twin Lakes Board positions to expire in April

If you have a hankering to get involved with local politics, you still have a chance. There are four elected position on the Twin Lakes Village Board expiring in the spring.

The terms of Village President Howard Skinner and trustees Sharon Bower, Kevin Fitzgerald and Aaron Karow will expire in the spring of 2013.

To get your name on the ballot you will have to move fast. Candidacy forms have been available since Dec.1 and must be completed and turned into the village clerk no later than Wednesday, Jan. 2.

A minimum of 25 full-time resident signatures are required. If needed, a primary election will be held Feb. 19, and the spring election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2.

 

Voting requirements

To qualify as an elector in the Village of Twin Lakes the following must be met: Citizen of the United States of America; 18 years of age or older on or before election day have resided in the Village of Twin Lakes for at least 28 consecutive days with no present intent to move not currently serving a sentence including incarceration, parole, probation or extended supervision for a felony conviction and not otherwise disqualified from voting.

You may register to vote either in person at the Village Hall or by mail.

If you chose to register to vote by mail, you will need to complete the Voter Registration Application that can be found on the My Vote WI website (www.myvote.wi.gov) and submit this to the Village Hall along with a copy of your proof of residence if this is your first time registering.
