Wilmot boys state hopes stopped by Stoughton

For the first time in 12 years the Wilmot Boys Basketball team advanced to the sectional round of the WIAA State Tournament, Feb. 28.

The boys  (19-5 overall) were stopped by Stoughton (16-8 overall), 66 to 39.

Stoughton will play the winner of the Deforest and Monroe game on Saturday, March 2, in a sectional final at Janesville Craig for a berth in next weekend’s state tournament. Tip off for the sectional final on Saturday is 1:30 p.m.

If they had won, it would have marked the Panthers  first trip to state since 1991.
