Holloway to fill vacant board seat

On Feb. 19, the Westosha Central High School Board of Education interviewed residents who applied to complete the unexpired term of Henry Billinglsey, 66, who died unexpectedly on Jan. 1.

Billingsley represented the Paris area on the board.

Three candidates were interviewed and include Dustin, Beth, a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and a 2012 graduate of Westosha Central High School.

Eric Billingsley, a local small business owner, graduate of Central High School and the son of Henry Billingsley.

The final candidate and the board’s choice is John Holloway, a local farmer and also a graduate of Central High School. Holloway.

A press release issued by the school says Holloway has been very active in the community, serving on various local boards and advisory committees. Holloway was a strong supporter providing leadership to one of the many facilities study committees as central investigated expansion of the high school in recent years.

Holloway is married and has three children, all who attend Central High School.

Holloway will complete the remainder of the unexpired term of Henry Billingsley, which expires in April 2014.

At that time Holloway then have the opportunity to opt to run for re-election to the post.

Holloway will join the board at its March 5 committee meeting.

The board was “most impressed with all three candidates” the press release says, noting, “considerable time was spent reviewing the qualifications of each candidate before making their final decision.’
