‘Another Stately Dance’ offered by State Line Dance group

StateLineDance.com presents “Another Stately Dance” on Saturday, April 6, from 7 to 11 p.m. Instruction: Cha-Cha by Steve and Trudy Johnson.

Join StateLine Dance for a fun night of dancing and feel the difference of the 90-year-old “floating sprung floor” of the historic Twin Lakes Ballroom–(now known as Rumpoles Wonder Bar). It is the largest and oldest ballroom in Wisconsin and Illinois and is where many of the old time Big Bands played, including Glen Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman and Lawrence Welk, who was the resident musician for the summer of 1931.

Admission is $15 for singles and $25 for couples and includes a 45-minute advanced lesson from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. by professional ballroom instructors. A one-hour beginner-basic class is also offered before the dance from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for $10 per person. (Attend the dance in addition to the beginner lesson and receive $5 off admission to the dance.) Enjoy an interesting variety of strict tempo music by DJ Mike of the PfatKats, a Showcase Dance and sumptuous appetizers. Professional photographer Renata Lewandowski of Silver Town Studio in Silver Lake, Wis., will be available for private photographs. Attire is dressy/casual and dancers of all levels are invited, including beginners. Rumpoles is located at 352 E Main St., Twin Lakes, Wis. The GPS address is 1 N Lake Ave., Twin Lakes, WI 53181, which is just 3.5 miles north of the Illinois border.
