Koenig leads Westosha boys at Bradford

The Westosha Central boys and girls track teams both placed third at Saturday’s Kenosha County Indoor Track Championships at Kenosha Bradford.

Central had 96 points in the final boys standings, while the girls recorded 91 points.

Kenosha Bradford won the boys title with 134 points, followed by Kenosha St. Joseph’s with 130, Central, Kenosha Tremper with 62, Kenosha Indian Trails with 54, Shoreland Lutheran with 42, Wilmot with 37 and Christian Life with 24.

On the girls’ side, Tremper was first with 132 points, followed by Bradford with 106, Central, Shoreland Lutheran with 61, Wilmot with 50, Indian Trails with 46, St. Joseph’s with 43 and Christian Life with 13.

Jesse Koenig led the Central boys with three top-five finishes.

Koenig won the 400 (53.85), was second in the 200 (23.88) and fifth in the 55 (6.79).

The Falcons’ 3,200-meter relay team recorded the team’s other first-place finish with a time of 8:37.69.

Other top efforts were turned in by Charles Lamp, second in the 3,200 (10:44.55); Austin Feeney, third in the shot put (43-6 1/2); the 1,600-meter relay team, third (3:48.57); Kyle Foulke, fourth in the high jump (5-6); Zach Biehn, fourth in the triple jump (36-5); Jacob Hebior, fifth in the 1,600 (4:48.35); Corbin Bevry, fifth in the 3,200 (11:18.23); Grant Perschke, fifth in the triple jump (35-8); and the 800-meter relay team, fifth (1:42.83).

The Central girls recorded two first-place finishes Saturday.

Danielle Tesar won the shot put (32-1 1/2), while the 3,200-meter relay team was first (10:44.42). The other top individual effort was turned in by Maria Sabourin, second in the 800 (2:37.87) and third in the 1,600 (5:49.13).
