Nippersink Library book sale is coming

The Friends of the Nippersink Library will be holding their annual book sale Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 28, from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be books as well as books on cassette, books on CD, VHS tapes, National Geographic magazines from 1912 to current, CDs and DVDs available for purchase.  A bag sale, $4 per bag, will be held on Sunday only. The Friends are currently accepting donations until Wednesday, April 24. The annual sale was delayed from its usual February date due to renovation work at the library.

The Nippersink Library is located at 5418 Hill Road in Richmond. Currently ongoing construction has Hill Road closed at the bridge.  If you are accessing the library from U.S. Highway 12, your route remains unchanged.

If you access the library from North Solon Road, you will need to follow the detour to Route 173 or U.S. Highway 12.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward this year’s summer reading program, meeting room tables, and for the restoration of the Irene Manka tapestry. Irene’s tapestry is a 9-foot embroidered tapestry made in 1950 that depicts the Village of Richmond as it existed at that time.

The Friends are spearheading funding for this project in order that it can be put on public display. For further information, call the library at (815) 678-4014 or visit their Web site at www.nippersinklibrary.org.
