Boy run over by boat trailer in Twin Lakes

A freak accident injured an 11-year-old boy Tuesday night near the Subway Restaurant in Twin Lakes.
According to the Twin Lakes Police report, on May 7, 2013 at 5:55 p.m., squads responded to a report of an
injury accident, pedestrian vs. motor vehicle at 100 North Lake
Avenue.
Upon officer’s arrival, they observed that a young boy had been run over by boat trailer hauling a 23 ft. boat, towed by a motor vehicle.
Investigation revealed that the boy was riding
his bicycle on the sidewalk and fell off his bike into the roadway into
oncoming traffic.

Twin Lakes EMS responded and requested Flight for Life, who flighted the
boy to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

Wisconsin State Patrol responded to assist in the accident
reconstruction, assisted by the Twin Lakes Police Department’s accident
investigation officers.

The youngster sustained broken bones and some internal injuries,
nothing appears to be life threatening at this time.

Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department assisted in traffic and crowd control.

Investigation is continuing at this time.
