Enduring windy conditions and a rain delay from Thursday, the Westosha and Wilmot boys tennis teams still came away with positive results from last week’s Southern Lakes Conference tennis tournament.

Westosha finished third as a team and third overall in the final SLC standings, while Wilmot tied for fourth at the tournament and finished fourth overall.

Both teams finished with one champion on the day. At No. 2 singles, Wilmot’s Kyle Hetterman beat Elkhorn’s Marshall Amann 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 for the title there. At No. 3 singles, Westosha Central’s Hunter Hermes won 6-1, 6-0 over Elkhorn’s Adel Khan for the title.

Westosha came up with critical points at a number of other positions. The Falcons earned points in five of the other six brackets.

At No. 2 singles, Jordan Wallem finished third, while at No. 4 singles, Luke Andrekus was also third.

Brent Larsen and Jeff Teumer finished fourth at No. 1 doubles, while Josh Teumer and Hunter Spain finished third at No. 2 doubles.

Eamon Cook and Eric Ottmann battled back after losing their opening-round match to the eventual champions from Badger to take the consolation title at No. 3 doubles and earn a point toward the team title.

For Wilmot, Jordan Anderson finished third at No. 1 singles, while Trenten Wilkinson finished second at No. 4 singles.

At No. 2 doubles, Chris Bahena and Vince Blom pulled out a fifth-place finish after losing in the third round.
