Pringle Nature Center to host story time hike

Pringle Nature Center, located at 9800 160th Avenue in Bristol, will host a Nature Story Time Hike: Owl Moon by Jane Yolen on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. Bring out the little ones as you will sit down to read a book about a little girl and her father who go owling late one winter night. The trees stand still as statues, and the world is silent as a dream. After the story you will head out for a hike with activities tied to the story. This event is free to the public.

The center will also be having a Geminids meteor shower viewing on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Come join the center for the greatest show seen from Earth. The Geminids is one of the best meteor showers of the year and never seems to disappoint observers.

An informal talk about the night skies will be given and then with mugs of hot chocolate, you will go out and view the skies. It will be close to the Geminids peak, so you should see 50 to 80 meteors an hour. Dress warmly for the weather. Pre-registration is required by calling (262) 857-8008. Cost is $3.75 for Friends and $5 for the general public.
