Cheri Amore Memorial Golf Classic set for June 24

The Cheri Amore 11th annual Memorial Golf Classic to benefit the MACC Fund will be held Monday, June 24, at the Twin Lakes Country Club, 1230 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes.

Amore was a young athlete who loved dancing, cheerleading and water skiing. She was a member of the Aquanut Water Ski Team.

Sadly, she lost her battle against cancer on July 9, 2002, at the age of 17, from complications that occurred during treatment for leukemia. She bravely battled cancer six times between the ages of 3 and 17 and underwent three bone-marrow transplants.

The annual golf classic raises funds for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer or the MACC Fund, as it is more commonly known.

The 11th annual golf classic will be an 18-hole, four person team scramble, for golfers of all levels. All golfers will receive tee prizes, lunch, golf game and use of cart, dinner and awards banquet. Team prices will be awarded and individual prizes for longest drive, longest putt, closet to the pin and also a great hold in one prize on one of the par 3 holes.

Golf and dinner reservations are due by Saturday, June 15.

For more information contact Buster or Cindy Amore at (262) 877-2348 or Ron and Barb Bergsma at (815) 678-4113.
