The Wilmot and Westosha Central baseball teams recently landed five players on All-Southern Lakes Conference squads for 2013.
Named to the first team from Wilmot were senior infielder Scott Litwin and senior outfielder Chaz Schmidt. Joining that pair from Central was junior outfielder Justin Barney.
Each team also landed one player on honorable mention – Central sophomore infielder Greg Kuhfuss and Wilmot senior infielder Corey Crowder.
Wilmot posted a 6-6 record in the SLC, good for third place, and was 12-10 overall. The Panthers advanced to a Division 1 sectional final against Kenosha Bradford, where they fell 5-4 to close their season.
Central finished the spring at 5-9 in the SLC and was 8-15 overall.
Litwin batted .438 in SLC play this spring (21 for 48). He led the conference in hits, runs scored (21) and RBI (13). He also collected five doubles, two triples, 30 total bases and six stolen bases.
In conference action, Schmidt batted .415, with 17 hits, 17 runs scored, seven doubles and 24 total bases. On the mound, Schmidt won three SLC games, had a 1.32 WHIP, one shutout, 18 walks and 39 strikeouts.
Barney batted .391 in the SLC (18 for 46), with 18 runs scored and conference bests in doubles (11) and total bases (31). He also was second in league play with eight stolen bases.
Kuhfuss hit .522 in the SLC, while Crowder batted .341 for the spring.
Overall statistics for the entire season were unavailable this week.
