Heat Advisory in effect through Friday

A heat advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Friday for all of southeastern Wisconsin. Temperature highs in the upper 80s to low 90s with heat index values of 95 to 100 each afternoon. Some locally higher values are possible in rural areas where fields of maturing crops add more moisture to the air. Little relief is expected during the overnight hours as conditions will remain warm and muggy with lows in the lower to mid 70s. Drink plenty of liquids, stay in air conditioning when possible. Stay out of the sun and check on your neighbors. Animals need shade and fresh water. Heat is most stressful on the elderly and children. A break could be coming Friday night when a cold front moves in. Strong storms could result. Monitor the weather.
