Lake clean up set for Sept. 7

Volunteers are being sought to help clean up and restore Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth to its natural beauty.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, volunteers (no experience needed) are asked to meet at Lance Park in Twin Lakes at 8 a.m.

The groups will kayak, canoe, row, swim or walk the entire shoreline and shallow areas of both lakes. The goal is to pick up all the trash left over from the summer season.

The morning will begin with coffee, donuts, and a short presentation by the Boy Scouts at Lance Park on the impact of water pollution.  Volunteers will then be divided into teams based on number of participants and work their way to the Sand Bar at the south end of Lake Elizabeth. Volunteers will find food and drink specials there for a small fee.

Bring your own mode of transportation, personal flotation device, and reusable coffee/water /beverage container.

RSVP with questions, donations and number of attendees to [email protected] or call (262) 716-1418. Rain date is Sept. 8 at the same time, same place.
