Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods

Trick-or-treat! October is always a time for children to go trick-or-treating for candy.

However, Richmond Burton’s National Honor Society has a different idea. Every year members form teams and split up into neighborhoods around the community and “trick-or-treat” for any non-perishable food items.

Items will be collected Sunday, Nov. 3; it may be past Halloween, but it’s never too late to give back to the community.

The annual Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods supports local food pantries in their efforts and collects hundreds of food items for the community.

Beginning the Sunday before, members go mailbox to mailbox handing out fliers.  All you have to do is leave your donations on your doorstep with the flier attached on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Groups will then go around to each assigned neighborhood and collect the canned goods.  If you live in a more remote area or would like to donate to the cause, you may drop off any food items to Richmond Burton Community High School.
