The Wilmot football team, which tied for the Southern Lakes Conference title this fall, recently landed 11 players on three All-SLC teams.

Leading the way was senior defensive lineman Zach Dodge, who was chosen by coaches as the Player of the Year on that side of the football.

A separate story about Dodge appears in this week’s edition.

Nearby Westosha Central, under the direction of first-year head coach Tyson Mengel, had four players voted honorable mention.

Joining Dodge on the first team from Wilmot were senior offensive lineman Dalton Heckel and senior punter Albert Rogalski.

Second-team selections for the Panthers included senior Cameron Loveless (running back), Heckel (defensive line), senior Garrett Bogucki (linebacker) and junior Bryce Kothe (defensive back).

Honorable mention picks were juniors Sam Thurow (wide receiver), Brennan Frisby (tight end) and Carson Borowski (offensive line), along with juniors Doug Wedge (linebacker) and Sean Stewart (defensive back).

Wilmot posted a 6-1 record in the SLC, good for a three-way tie for the title with Waterford and Badger. The Panthers advanced to the WIAA Division 2 playoffs, where they fell 6-3 to Whitefish Bay in the first round.

The Falcons, who finished the year at 0-9 overall, had senior Zach Biehn (running back) and juniors Cameron Schneider (wide receiver), Austin Feeney (running back) and Luke Blair (linebacker) named honorable mention.
