The varsity head coaching career of Jerod Boyd got off to a great start last week.

In his debut with the Westosha Central girls basketball program, Boyd’s Falcons overcame a halftime deficit for a 64-38 non-conference win over visiting West Allis Central.

The win improved the Falcons to 1-0 overall.

After it fell behind the first two quarters, the Falcons’ defense went to work the rest of the way.

Central only allowed 12 second-half points to fuel its comeback.

Jaela McGill led the way with 21 points, followed by Megan Ziesmann with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Central opens its Southern Lakes Conference schedule Thursday night when it travels to Elkhorn. The Falcons close out their week at Kenosha St. Joseph’s Saturday, Dec. 14.
