RITA ANN FORNERO

Rita Ann Fornero, 77, of Camp Lake, died Dec. 19, 2011, at her home.

She was born July 15, 1934, in Chicago, to the late Theodore and Anna (Szot) Greskiw, settling in Camp Lake in 1948.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Wilmot. Rita enjoyed bird watching, and going to casinos to play the slot machines. She’d also occasionally go online and play some casino-related games on https://www.bcasino.co.uk/. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was a member of the Stitch’n Bitch Club. She worked as Post Master for the Camp Lake Post Office, and then for the Wilmot Post Office as a clerk.

On June 19, 1954, she married Donald Fornero at Holy Name Church, Wilmot. She is survived by her husband of 57 years; daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Robinson of Lily Lake; JoAnne Fornero of Camp Lake, and Diane (Ron) McManus of Lake Geneva; a brother, Bill (Debra) Greskiw of Camp Lake and a sister, Linda (Bill) Nieuhr of Twin Lakes; grandchildren Tyler, JT, Jamie, Jeremy, Jacee, Aubrie, Danya, Allissa, Kaitlyn, Delanie, Kyle, and Shawn; and great-grandchildren, Reese, Kaylie, Calvyn, and Lucas.

She was further preceded in death by two infant brothers and an infant sister.

Funeral services with Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Holy Cross Parish, County Highways C and B, Wilmot.

Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Wilmot. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83) Antioch, Ill.
