Allied Plastics begins process to expand

By Annette Newcomb~Editor

A special meeting of the Joint Design Review and Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at the Twin Lakes Village Hall, 108 E. Main St.

Allied Partners wants to add an addition to what is known as the “cold storage building” and to the existing east building. The refrigeration installation of the building would be looked after by a team of experts, adept in such high-end jobs. It is to be noted that both the facilities are located at 170 Holy Hill Road. The engineering and manufacturing facility is currently 100,000 sq. ft.

According to the application, the north building addition/cold storage building, would be of steel frame and steel siding to match the existing structure.

The east building would be of a masonry block to match the existing building. The balance between the east wall will be a steel panel along with the north end of the wall. The cold storage doors could also be made to match the stainless steel panel.

Jon Wallencamp of Kueny Architects LLC of Pleasant Prairie is handling design.

Allied Plastics is well-known in the area and has 185 employees.

This year KABA (Kenosha Area Business Alliance) nominated Allied Plastics, Inc., for the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year.
