Poppy Days lead the way to Memorial Day events here

The Twin Lakes American Legion Auxiliary will be selling poppies at Richter’s Marketplace on Friday, May 23; Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25.

All funds earned from these sales go directly to Veteran’s programs. Support Our Veterans!

 

Memorial Day Parade

The Twin Lakes American Legion Post 544 is hosting its annual Memorial Day Parade and cemetery memorial services on Monday, May 26.

The schedules calls for:

7:30 a.m. Legion members and Sons of American Legion Post 544, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts assemble at Legion Hall, 989 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes.

At 9 a.m. the group will meet at Mound Prairie Cemetery for a short memorial service. The public is urged to attend one of these simple yet poignant service.

At 9:30 a.m. the same group will meet at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery for the second memorial service.

This group will then return to Legion Hall.

Between 10 and 10:30 a.m. line up will begin at Lance Park for the annual Memorial Day Parade.

Step off will commence at 11 a.m. The parade will travel down Lance Drive to Legion Drive to Legion Hall.

A special Memorial Day service will take place at the Legion Hall. There will be several guest speakers. Hot dogs and drinks will be served.
