Suspicious activity
at 4:18 p.m., a daycare employee called in a complaint of suspicious activity on S. Second Street. A man in a truck stopped two young boys, and they started talking. The older man looked suspicious, and it did not appear the boys knew him. When officers responded, the truck pulled away quickly. Officers advised the school principal for the boys of what happened.
Dec. 18
OWI
at 5:57 p.m., a vehicle was stopped on S. Cogswell Drive for swerving all over the road. The operator was found to be under the influence of intoxicants and was subsequently arrested for a second OWI;
Check welfare
at 7:50 p.m., a man came into the station requesting that an officer check on his children at his estranged wife’s house on W. Depot Street. The man was sure someone who wasn’t supposed to be at the house was based on a truck he saw in the driveway.
Upon visiting the residence, the officer found nothing out of the ordinary to suggest a boyfriend or anyone other than the woman and the children had been in the house.
Dec. 19
Rescue Call
at 11:48 a.m., an officer responded to School Street for an elderly man who had fallen. The man had been in the bathroom when he fell and hit his head and was unable to get back up. The man also had numerous medical conditions including lung cancer. The man was transported to Elkhorn Hospital.
