Town of Salem Clerk Cindi Ernest has released the names of candidates who filed by the 5 p.m. deadline Jan. 3. Seeking election are:
• For Town Board Supervisor, a one-year term currently held by Ted Kmiec: Gail Peckler-Dziki, Trevor; incumbent Kmiec, Salem; Jim Walker, Trevor;
• For Town Board Supervisor, two-year terms now currently held by Dennis Faber and Patrick O’Connell: incumbent Faber of Camp Lake will be challenged by Mike Culate of Trevor.
Filing deadline extended until 5 p.m. tonight
Town of Salem residents now have until Friday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m. to file papers to run for the office of Town Board Supervisor, a two-year term in the upcoming April election.
This deadline has been extended as a result of the Notice of Non-Candidacy not being filed by the incumbent, Patrick J. O’Connell, pursuant to Wisconsin State Statues and his failure to file papers for the office by the Jan. 3 deadline.
