Authorities haven’t released the identity of the young woman from Trevor who was killed in a chain reaction crash Friday morning.

According to Sgt. Robert Croeker, at 11:02 a.m., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and Bristol Fire and Rescue responded to an accident site at the intersection of State Highway 45 (200th Avenue) and County Highway WG (State Line Road), in the Village of Bristol.

According to the sheriff’s report, a westbound 2014 Ford Focus driven by an 81-year-old man from Zion, Ill., ignored a red light, striking a northbound 2008 Kenmore Semi-tractor flatbed being driven by a 44-year-old male from Dodge Center, Minn.

This collision in the middle of the intersection forced the flatbed semi-tractor into the southbound lanes of State Highway 45. The semi-tractor then struck a third vehicle driven by the Trevor resident, which was southbound on 45.

The third vehicle was a 2007 GMC Sierra Truck pulling an empty horse trailer.

According to multiple witnesses at the scene, both the semi-tractor and the GMC Sierra truck had green lights at the intersection.

Female sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision with the semi-tractor.

The 81-year-old driver of the Ford Focus was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for serious injuries. The semi truck driver was taken by Bristol Rescue to St. Catherine’s Hospital Emergency Room in Kenosha for minor injuries.

Assistance at the scene was provided by Bristol Fire and Rescue, Newport Fire and Rescue, Wisconsin State Patrol, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and Flight for Life personnel. The Sheriff’s Department Mobile Command Unit also responded to the scene and was utilized by all personnel during the incident. Alcohol does not appear to have been involved, the sheriff’s report said.

The investigation is continuing and sheriff’s department personnel are currently working on confirming the identity of the driver that sustained the fatal injuries.
