BlurtITOut set for Feb. 19 at Wheatland School

The Western Kenosha County Historic Society will host BlutITout on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Wheatland Center School.

      Communities to be fea-tured include Randall, Wheatland, Powers Lake, New Munster, Wheatland, Nippersink and Bassett.

      Bring any historic items pertaining to these communi-ties for show and tell. If you don’t know what it is, bring it for group discussion. Call (262) 862-7165 for information.

Still looking for Mugwumps

“The Mugwump” was a four-page paper about people and places, centered in Slades Corners. The paper was pub-lished from Sept. 16, 1892 until 1941 and was started by Paul J. Sauer, 14, of Slades Corners. In 1910 postal rates were the demise of the paper. The Western Kenosha County Historical Society can be reached at [email protected] or 862-7165.
