Planting symbols of hope

ANT GardenClubMembers of the Antioch Upper Grade School Garden Club tend to a hill of topsoil at the Antioch Community Garden, east of Main Street, on May 19. The club, directed by science instructor Barbara Regan (far right) was on hand to prep and plant a variety of vegetables in the garden they’ll be tending this season. The students also planted sunflower seeds along the garden fence in support of the International Foundation for Research and Education on Depression. The sunflower and color yellow are the organization’s international symbols of hope for depression. (Photo by Jude Kaider)
