An overwhelming number of Randall Grade School district residents said yes to exceed the proposed revenue limit by $460,000 for the next three school years.

Seventy nine percent, or 339 to 90 were in favor of the measure during Tuesday’s special election.

The referendum asked to simply maintain the 2014-15-revenue limit; a limit that dropped in the past five years, putting the district in financial difficulties.

“If this hadn’t passed,” Randall District Administrator John Gendron explained, “we would have had to dip into our shrinking fund balance to balance this year’s budget.”

“We are very excited that this has passed and by such a large majority,” he continued. “This means that people are not only happy with the direction of the district an dour goals, but they want to make sure that we get there.”

A full story on the referendum will appear in the Oct. 23 edition of the Twin Lakes Report.
