A magnitude 2.4 earthquake was reported in Kenosha County Monday night, just before 10 p.m.

Originally the quake was thought to be centered in Lake Shangri-La but the USGS (United States Geological Survey) reevaluated the data and determined the center was located between on Chapel Hill Road, two miles east of McHenry, Ill., in northern McHenry County, just miles from the Stateline.

Although no damage was reported, plenty of people in our area reported feeling the quake. Twin Lakes Police Chief Dale Racer said no calls were received at the police department.

Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Beth said Tuesday morning the third shift supervisor reported that there were no calls into dispatch about the earthquake. KSD was notified by the National Weather Service that the earthquake had occurred, Beth said.

Did you feel it?  Let us know what you felt, if there was damage and where you were and what time.
