Community Library scheduled February programs

                  Community Library announced its adult programming from January to March. The events are as follows:

                  • Tuesday, Feb. 7. Heart-Shaped Box.

                  What’s better than candy? Candy in a handmade box. Create a personalized heart-shaped box that you can fill with goodies for someone special just in time for Valentine’s Day. All supplies will be available at the time of the class. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins Jan. 24.

                  • Thursday, Feb. 9. Are You an Entrepreneur?

Thinking about starting your own business? Decide if entrepreneurship is right for you with presenter Deborah Ross-Corbet of Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative. 6 to 8 p.m. Registration begins Jan. 26.

                  • Saturday, Feb. 25. Beginning Bird Watching.

                  Ever wonder what that bird is outside your window? Join Rick Fare and Helen Pugh, of the Hoy Audubon Society as they share their expertise on bird identification and the recommended birding resources and bird watching spots in Kenosha and Racine counties.10 to 11:30 a.m. Registration begins Feb. 11.

                  • Thursdays, March 1 to March 29. VITA Tax Assistance.

                  The Kenosha County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) can prepare and file basic tax returns for free. Call or visit Community Library for a list of required documents. 5 to 8 p.m. Program also offered Saturdays, March 3 through March 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

                  • Tuesday, March 13. Fabric Bouquet.

                  Welcome spring with a stunning floral bouquet made of fabric. This deceptively simple craft uses easy-to-find supplies and can be made in any shape and size. All supplies will be provided at the time of the program. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins Feb. 28.

                  • Wednesday, March 14. Design & Conquer.

Discover the six dimensions of leadership, assess your current leadership skills, and learn ways to become a better leader. Presented by Deborah Ross-Corbett of the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative. 6 to 7:30 p.m. Registration begins Feb. 29.

                  • Thursday, March 22. Medicare Workshop.

                  Janice Erickson, Benefit Specialist Coordinator with the Aging and Disability Resource Center in Kenosha, will discuss the Medicare health and drug options for 2012 and will provide benefit information and offer suggestions on how you can compare different plans. 2 to 4 p.m. Registration begins March 8.

                  • Thursday, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, and March 15. Genealogy Networking.

                  Join the monthly genealogy networking group to share your favorite tips and techniques. Learn about new trends in genealogy and the tools and databases that are available. Registration is not required. 2 to 3:30 p.m.

                  • First Tuesday of every month. Book Discussions.

Our book discussion group reads a variety of books from classics to contemporaries and everything in between. Registration is not required.

Tuesday, Feb. 7. 6:30 p.m.

                  • “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Steig Larsson.

Tuesday, March 6. 6:30 p.m.
