A 25-year-old Twin Lakes man accused of disorderly conduct and aggravated battery, a felony, was held on a $25,000 bond in Kenosha County Intake Court Monday.

Alexander Garcia was taken into custody by the Twin Lakes Department for his alleged role in the brutal beating of 58-year-old Thomas Eppers Christmas morning.

Eppers remains in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he was transported by Flight For Life helicopter from a Burlington area hospital.

When Twin Lakes police and rescue personnel arrived at the residence in the 1100 block of Pebble Beach Court shortly before 3 a.m., they discovered Eppers suffered severe head injuries, according to a press release issued by the Twin Lakes Police Department.

The release noted Garcia resided at the residence at the time of the attack.

Twin Lakes Police Chief Adam Grosz confirmed that alcohol may have been involved.

“It is still an ongoing investigation, but we believed alcohol played a role,” Grosz said.

Alyssa Rittorno, Eppers’ niece, created a GoFundMe page online to raise funds to help pay medical expenses.

According to the page, he is in critical condition and “suffered a brain hemorrhage, five shatter-like fractures, a broken jaw, broken ribs, a collapsed lung and multiple scalp wounds.”

Eppers, a father of four, will need facial reconstruction surgery when stable.

Additionally, the page noted a baseball bat was used in the attack.

The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office expects to file formal charges in Kenosha County Intake Court Wednesday.
