A showcase of Wilmot Union High School’s best talent will be on display at 6 p.m. Saturday in the school auditorium.

Chaos and Creation, a Drama Club production, formed eight years ago to fund scholarships for students who plan to major or minor in theater or music.

Deborah Fragale, who spearheaded the effort, said it gives students an opportunity to showcase their talents to an entire community.

“We have some extraordinary talent, such as singers, dancers and monologues from my Acting I and II students,” said Fragale.

The student singers often use the guitar or piano, and dancers do either solo or group acts, she said.

Juniors Lauren Hanson and Isabella Andersen are emceeing the talent show.

Both have been involved in the drama department since they were freshman.

“Me and my best friend are emceeing it, so it should be a really fun time,” Hanson said. “It is an all-school talent show and everyone should come, it will be really interesting.”

The two emcees are also performing in the show.

Andersen said the opportunity to help lead the show alongside her friend is an enlightening experience.

“I am really excited, since I saw some seniors my freshman year do it, and now my best friend and I get to do it.”

Additionally, the event allows students to perform to a larger audience, which has packed the school auditorium in previous years.

“There are students who are very shy at school, and when they are onstage, they come to life,” Fragale said. “It is exciting and thrilling to see them gain this intrinsic reward from performing onstage in front of a live audience.”

Andersen said the show will feature an array of talent.

“We have a wide variety of voices – boys and girls,” Andersen said. “So it should be a good time.”

The audience is not limited to parents of the 50 students expected to perform, however, with fellow classmates coming to show support.

“What makes the show fun are the students who come to cheer on their classmates, and the family members who come to encourage and applaud for their children,” Fragale said.

Admission is $5 at the door.
